October 22, 2019 – The Rotary Club of Naples Bay, along with several Collier County Rotary clubs, join Rotary International in the fight for a polio-free world. A proclamation was presented Tuesday morning in honor of World Polio Day, which will be recognized Thursday, Oct. 24, in Collier County, Florida.
Board of Commissioners’ of Collier County presented the proclamation to members of the Rotary Club of Naples Bay. The proclamation said Rotary launched PolioPlus in 1985, and in 1988 helped establish the Global Polio Eradication Initiative — which includes the World Health Organization, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, UNICEF and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation — to immunize children around the world against polio.
The proclamation went on to state that “polio cases have dropped by 99.9 percent since 1989, and the world stands on the threshold of eradicating the disease …” and that “Rotary has contributed more than $1.9 billion and countless volunteer hours to protecting more than 2.5 billion children in 122 countries.”
July 17, 2019 – Joseph Cofield, who has just joined The Rotary Club of Naples Bay, is speaking at Toastmasters at their North Collier meeting last week. Joseph, a long time Rotarian, spoke about the United States Constitution, the Declaration of Independence and the United States Bill of Rights. Joseph has made it his mission to distribute copies of the Constitution to every fifth grade student in the State of Florida. This includes all 67 counties in the State. He has successfully distributed over 233,000 copies, and is currently raising money to purchase additional copies of the Constitution to continue his mission.

July 9, 2019 – At a recent luncheon at Lorenzo Walker Technical High School and College, Yolanda Flores, Administrative Director at Lorenzo Walker Technical High School and College shares the various Certificate Programs and Public workshops available day or night at the school. The Rotary Club of Naples Bay is partnering with the school to provide scholarships, mentoring opportunities as well as “seeing the need and filling the need”, like exam fees and tool supplies.

May 2, 2019 – The Rotary Club of Naples Bay has obtained the 100% Paul Harris Club again this year. Thank you to Sandra Hemstead, Governor for District #6960, for attending our luncheon.
May 8, 2019 – Club President Dee Dee Fuller and Club Member Jamie Weaver attended the Golden Gate High School Academic Ceremony to present our Foundation’s 2019 Scholarship Awards. This year the Rotary Club of Naples Bay Foundation awarded two $1,000 scholarships.
The Naples Bay Rotary Club team has met with most of our public figures and solicited their assistance. From the Director of The Emergency Operations Center (EOC), our County Commissioners, Collier County Public school superintendent, the State Department of Health to, Coast Guard members and Assisted Living members (Barrington). We have provided the following:
1. After Reaching out to the EOC and obtained 12 pallets of supplies; 10 pallets of waters and 2 pallets of 1 day ready to eat meal packages. All being done during the water restriction in Collier County.
2. We delivered to offices, business parking lots, churches and the areas hardest hit Everglade City.
